How to win trust in dynamic economy of changing world


Now you come to point. You know we have to win trust to become number 1. But you know also everything is changing very first in this world. Look at ourselves. How our life getting changed day by day by day?

Oh, you mean change is the part of life. So how can one win trust that is changing always? Does it not mean trust always change?

You are right.  Trust is something relate to our mind, basically to our conscious mind. So changing world means changing of trust.

Then how can one win your trust that changes so rapidly?

To answer your question, you have to look beyond this world? Look at the sky, your nearest planets and stars. What do you see?

Oh, I see some changes and also something permanent too.  There are something looks like not changing.  Even if everything is changing but apparently looks like not changing.

You are right. Something remains permanent that never changes. But around this many things are changing. What is that permanent thing around us?

You mean the nature? Just like sun rises every day in the sky. It may be billions of years happening same way. So I trust sun that it will definitely appear again.

Yes, you are correct.  But if you look at appearance of sun, it is like repainting the same image again and again with certain interval in our conscious mind. Of course the sun is always in the sky but our mind is getting painted with sun’s image repeatedly. So there is a variable factor over the absolute to win the trust.

What is variable and what is that absolute?

You asked a very good question.  Sun is apparently absolute though this is completely not.  Modern science says sun will be destroyed again after billions of years. So this is not completely absolute and that’s why these variables. The variables are cause of appearing and disappearing of almost an absolute. Since those variables are repeatedly in cycle, the whole process wins our trust.

That means, in this material nature, if you find certain absolutes and using variables , we can win trust. How that is possible in economy which looks like almost all variables? It is almost impossible to win trust in dynamic economic system?

You are correct. When you are standing on everything variables then wining of absolute trust is impossible.  Since this material world is changing every moment we are standing  on bunch of variables. Here nothing is permanent to win our trust.

You apparently looks to be correct but unfortunately not. This whole universe is not created with bunch of variables. When we look at the sky, we always see there is presence of absolute. So how can it possible this material world is running completely by variables? So we need to find absolute within these variables.

How can we find absolutes within these variables? It is very difficult and looks like mostly philosophical and impossible.

Yes, it looks like philosophical. But do we really search absolute within variables? Today’s science not even thinking about these absolutes so how can we search? But we must search to stand firmly on belief that if we cannot find absolute we cannot remain number 1.  This is a same concept to the whole creation of this universe and even to God.  If God is not absolute He cannot remain number 1. So who ever is greatest in this universe they found their God that is absolute.  To think it clearly, we must ask ourselves what is the absolute in our life?

Oh, you are asking something  philosophical and spiritual nature.  I know the answer. Some people say our soul is absolute. But I don’t believe on these? Who knows where is the soul?

Yes, I understand what you mean. So many billions people are looking to identify soul the absolute but could not establish true identity of soul. So today we believe in science and today’s science even cannot firmly establish the presence of absolute. They say everything is changing. So we are also changing. Business is also changing. Our trust is also changing. So no one can become number 1 permanently.  This position always changes.

That means, you are talking a philosophy that everything changes and nothing is absolute. We are created and destroyed many times and that is the absolute nature of the universe and even God?

Yes that I mean.  Since there is no proof of permanent by science it proves changing is the only philosophy.

Let me to ask you a question how many times big bang happened that your science can prove or think?

At least once.

Before that?

Before that there was something absolute and may be one.  But it could possible that these kinds of big bangs happened many times even in past before this big bang.  One becomes many and many becomes one in every time.

You are correct.  If it is so and if one comes and say you that I preserve both many in one and one in many. So the absolute presents in both cases before and after the big bang. That’s why we cannot deny the presence of absolute in everything within this world and not even in so called dynamic economy.  So in this context, preservation is the nature of absolute. To become number 1 , we need to preserve something valuable for those who are directly associated to us. Which is not preserved that is destroyed. Which is destroyed that is created again. But preservation is the key to find absolute. God preserves our soul with its own nature even after our death. That’s why we trust in God. That’s why our soul is permanently present and God is absolute preserver. In similar way a dynamic economy also needs to preserve certain absolute nature of its existence to remain permanently present.  For example, If a business comes and says “I preserve the consumer rights to pay less” that means I preserve the consumer’s price besides all bunches of variables in dynamic economy and changing world, in other word, I control the inflation in the economy and bring it back to its absolute. Which is the nature of absolute, the presence of God. Until we achieve that goal by finding all absolutes around our business economy,  we are a business without soul. Thus we cannot become permanent and remain always number 1 without having soul or presence of God’s nature.

Amazon and Walmart, a battle of trust


Walmart is number 1. Amazon is looking for this position. Hence a battle!

We are all ordinary people, some of us customers, employees etc. etc. What this battle means to us?

We don’t care who fights and who wins? Whoever wins our trust he wins J

So what about Walmart?

Ask all of their employees. Where they do shopping? Most of them are in Amazon! So? Then Amazon!

We at Walmart say, not yet. We are number 1. We want to be their? Then what about our trust? That is of course with Amazon.

Does that mean that Amazon will become number 1?

Not yet. Not sure. May not be!!!

Then what should we do? Above all we  preach “Save Money, Live Better.”  We save customer’s money.

Really?

yes, we do.

So we are number 1? But does we win the trust? Even of our employees?

May be not.  But we definitely save money.

Oh! That's probably.  But we don’t win the trust of our customers.  That’s why Amazon becoming number 1.  So what is the solution?

Any one is number 1 in this world having direct blessing of God.  Our God is our customers.

How we can be blessed?

Whoever wins our trust he winsJ

So we should preach trust, right? Not respect, not save, not live better. We should win trust of our customers. Trust is a direct action. Respect is inert. We are respectful but we are now preaching inert action.  We should win trust. We should preach trust. Trust of our customer is our permanent position of becoming number 1. Whoever is number 1 they are blessed. What to say, whoever smallest and number 1, they are also blessed too!

Ok, why is he wins?

Direct action. Not inert action!

That’s fine. So what? How to defeat Amazon?

Oh, you know, I am a Walmart employee. Couple of days before I saw annual goals in 2013. Wlatmart’s number 1 priority is revenue. Looks like well thought strategy to remain in number 1. What do you think?

I think so. They have lots of logistics and many big shops throughout the world. They can really generate more revenue? So number 1 is our permanent place. I think so.

Ok man, That looks like a rich man wants to be more rich? But what about trust? Do you trust this rich man to be richest?

Possibly today. But who knows for tomorrow?

Oh, that is similar like respect. What you told, “Inert action. Respect, very close looking”

Yes, agree. But how could this become permanent? At least for next 50 years?

Then something you have to look like “winning the trust”.

Oh, yes! That I mean. But what we should do?

You have to prove that you save money. You are the lowest to become highest.  Together lowest in number 1 and highest in number 1 too. Looks like similar definition of God.

That I understood. But what is the action? I mean direct action?

Very simple. Your store should be cheaper than Amazon.  Direct action.  Save money live better!

Stores cheaper than Amazon? Cannot believe. How do our customers know our stores are cheaper than Amazon?

That’s what you preach. “Save money live better”  at least for stores.

Amazon sells cheaper than even store. You know their tax saving mechanism.  Who can beat them?

Not everything in Amazon is cheapest. What about branded items? Are they cheap compare to Walmart?

May be or maybe not.

That is the lack of your trust. You don’t trust Walmart.  Walmart preaches “Save money, live better” at least for branded item.

Ok, I accept this. So how to compete with Amazon.

Very simple, display store items price side by and just  add a button say “Create Store Coupon”

You mean Groupon + Amazon

That’s what I mean.  Make Groupon + Amazon in Walmart site. Show every branded items which are cheapest in store with a button “Create Store Coupon”

Oh, you mean, customer can add branded items to their shopping cart while shopping online and print a store coupon list. What will they do with these coupons?

They will print the “Store Coupon List” and bring this too nearby store and buy the item with that price displayed on the site.  Also if possible, give some points for each purchase and issue your customer a gift card to en cash online for next shopping. A double benefit to the customer to defeat Amazon’s tax saving etc.etc.

Oh, that could be a great idea to bring new customer to our stores every day, right?

At the end of the day, it is the trust. Whoever wins our trust he wins J

A Philosophical Quest of Agile Process

This material world is currently facing worst economical and social turmoil day by day. There are many reasons behind this current economical situation. But when we come down to our daily life and try to solve each problem in our life, we first look at the most acute issue that is cause of problem. Unless we find the root cause of ecah difficulty, we can not find the best solution to this issue. Similarly in every material exploration, we face many difficulties and solve it slowly by investigating its proper cause and then solution. But when we look to a very broad issue, like current world economical health, then we are looking to a very complex issue and suddenly become clue less because of the uncertain nature of this issue. That’s why even though many governments and economists are trying to solve every economical problem but they could not find perfect solution that may work every time and every geographical location within every society. In time immemorial, human tried to enjoy these vast material resources with their full control and authority, but till today they could not find any ultimate solution that can make happy every person on this planet with their economical health. That’s why the search of true economical knowledge is continuing and also will continue as long as human civilization exists.


But the simple approach to find better solution to this problem must be transcendental. Any transcendental knowledge is known as spiritual knowledge backed by strong philosophy. Whatever has been manifested in perfect form in this material world and whatever will manifest in future, everything should be transcendental in nature. Unless we find one transcendental solution to a problem, our search will continue to find the supreme and ever lasting one. In that sense, whatever we are seeing today in this material world, all these material manifestations are not reached to the perfect everlasting solution. So is this economy. That’s why although we are investing all of our material resources and knowledge to find ever lasting economical solution, but still we could not reach to our supreme material goal yet. That’s why every economical solution must be perfect when it manifests with a transcendental knowledge.


Currently industry is trying to reach to its maximum business goal by implementing Agile process. This process is basically empowering of grass root employees with additional responsibilities and authorities. This approach is really noble. This gives relatively higher responsibility with proper respect to a very lower level workforce. It is similar to the verse once spoken by Mohaprabhu who is known as Personality of Godhead incarnated almost 500 years before on this planet. Mohaprabhu advised His followers with the following verse to achieve supreme goal in life. “trinad api sunicena. taror api sahishnuna. amanina manadena. kirtaniyah sada harihi ”. The direct spiritual meaning of this verse is “ Be very humble like grass and be very tolerant like tree. Give respect to those who are not respected and chant name of Supreme Lord Hari always”. This is very simple transcendental knowledge given by Lord to achieve supreme spiritual goal in life. But if we translate it in to our material knowledge, it becomes like this. “ A Business Management that becomes very humble to their employees and becomes very tolerant to empower its grass root employees by giving proper responsibility with respect can achieve supreme business goal by glorification of the Employer(Lord)”. So in that context, it is very simple to understand that whom you give responsibility with proper respect and humility they will glorify you to be respected and responsible one to the highest. That’s why to achieve ultimate goal even in material success by empowering grass root employees with higher responsibilities with proper respect can make one employer glorified and very respected. Agile process leads industry to this direction by following this transcendental knowledge.


Now the question arises, does it mean that every industry that will implement this Agile Process will thrive in business? Definitely it is not certain or guaranteed. The simple answer is, it is not certain because the last point in this above famous philosophical verse is not yet understood in the context of business management and employees. Here the advice of Lord to His follower to chant the name of Hari (Supreme). So unless it is realized by employees those who are empowered by their employer that their employer is supreme, then they will not chant or glorify the name of Employer (Lord). So their will be always difference in the level of supremeness of Employer one above another. One Employer may be much respected and glorified higher compare to other Employer in the similar industry because of their different work culture and environment, facilities, motivation etc. etc. That’s why change of mindset is required. This change of mindset is not only of the employer but also of the employees who are empowered by their employers. This change of mindset depends on two things. One is change of mindset of Management and another is the change of mindset of grass root employees. In this context, the Management’s mindset should be “Do whatever you can but should be glorified to be supreme by your employees”. Similarly employees mindset should be “Do whatever you can such that your Management is glorified”. This is very win win situation. Until business achieves to this highest goal with this change of mindset of both management and thier employees, perfection in business or economy process can not be reached.


Now the important point to understand “What business process should be followed by the employer that glorifies its Management”. Similarly for employees “How can this employer new business process be followed in such a way that the employer can be glorified to the highest”. This topic will be discussed in the next articles.

If one is not enough motivated with one’s current work and responsibilities, one can not become innovative to find better solution for any business issue on which one is currently working. Agile process gives such responsibility to grass root employees. Only giving responsibility can not create motivation unless one get appreciated for the success of achieving target. But once this goal is achieved, to motivate further to same group of employees it requires appreciation and the reward to this success. Sometimes few token of words could be appreciation and sometimes it may not. The highest level of appreciation is what you receive that you give. In that concept, since we grow in business we should look towards the personal growth of employees those who were contributing to this success by achieving corporate business goal. In that concept, to achieve our business goal through this new Agile business process we must look at the personal goal of each team member who are contributing to this success. Now the question comes who are these people should be rewarded? It is not possible to reward everyone those who are working in each focus team. Since it is a team effort that’s why it is very much the team will be benefited. As a thumb rule since entire team can not be promoted at a time, that’s why giving some bonus to highly successful team is one way of appreciation that will motivate the entire team. That could be a good idea to consider first to motivate entire team. Some times may be special bonus will motivate the team spirit. But the other thing must also be considered. Whether we can keep such team spirit without any promotion for long run? Are we competitive comparing to other organization? If some one from a highly motivated team gets better job offer from outside definitely he/she will leave. Then the team will loose its spirit seeing other member to quit for better position. It always happens that if one of a very high performer employee leaves from a highly motivated team, other members automatically becomes little nervous and may look for something else. That’s why promotion can not be stopped entirely in this business process.

Since current economic condition is very gloomy that’s why giving promotion means higher cost. Microsys already accepted a policy of “promotion freeze” in entire organization. But to keep on motivating a successful team, promotion must not be stopped in entry level employees like B1, B2 etc who are highly contributing to the success of team. If it is not possible to promote a good number of employees of entry level then there should be few more promotions in this level compare to the next higher level of employees. The reason is very simple. In every organization the ratio of employees who are working in entry level like B1 and B2 etc. against the next higher level is almost 1:10. That’s why promotion of one higher level to Management category is 10 time less effective in motivation factor comparing to the promotion of one entry level of employees. In that sense to create higher motivation to the diffrent focus team and entire business organization with high working and production spirit, entry level promotion is 10 times more effective comparing to a promotion of management level in Agile Process.

The conclusion is

In this current economic situation to remain competitive by providing low cost innovative solution with a very successful business process for long run, the following ideas may be considered to be very effective

1) By Implementing Agile Process effectively and building highly motivated mindset within employees and team members
2) Appreciate highly motivated team and reward them with special bonus when ever needed
3) “Few Low Level Promotion” is better than “No Promotion” towards team motivation
4) Sometime shaking the tail of dead elephant is better than one dead or sleeping elephant for long time. Means give promotion to selective management stuffs whenever necessary until economy improves
